Bon jour mes amies, (I promise this is the only French you’ll see here.)
You may wonder what a nice old Texan from Dallas with three grownup kids and seven grandchildren is doing blogging?
I am yielding to a trend and staying busy in my -er – Golden Years?
Anyone who knows me, knows I am technically challenged and whatever I write may never end up where I think it should, nevertheless, I shall give it a go with due credit to my talented grandson Cameron Soren of San Francisco who tries to make it all happen properly, bless him!
Not to bore you too much, I shall skip the usual about having written since infancy and how I aspire to be published in fiction and move on to the subject many friends and family members have wondered about: Why did Anne and Reg and all those animals they rescue move to France (of all places) and fall in love with the Brittany way of life? Well, as the blog title might suggest, it was easy.
Oh, maybe not the getting here and buying property and all that garbage, but LIVING here is.
A caveat may be in order: While I do love to travel, I find the old saw, “If it’s Wednesday, we must be in France” disturbing. In my heart I am wondering what it would be like to LIVE there, get to know the people and the place. So maybe I’m not a traveler but curious about how other people live. And you can’t find that out on a Wednesday in France.
Next caveat: We didn’t chose France. France lured us here with such a deal. (Where on the European continent could we find a charming little cottage on a beautiful piece of land for less than $30,000 U.S. Dollars?) Then we fell in love .
Now go to the blog “The French Adventure Begins” and all further questions will be answered in due course. And if they aren’t, just ask in the Comments column.
I’ll love hearing from you, Anne Grace Crowder.
